Propel Books

Since her earlier years, Amanda has been enthralled with reading and writing because of the portal it gave her into different worlds. When she was 17 years old, she started drafting her first novel, and while those first few years were merely spent exploring and learning the art of writing, in recent years, she has finished two books from her learnings on trauma, with a third book in its draft stage. These books, especially 'This Ocean We Call Life' and 'A Beautiful Mess' (her third book, coming soon), have largely influenced her discoveries of healing from trauma.

These books will be available to download from the 25th of August, 2023, for those who have full Propel subscriptions.

This Ocean We Call Life | Fiction Self-Help Book by Amanda Wilson

"This Ocean We Call Life is a profound and inspiring personal growth novel based on the analogy of the ocean and a woman's journey into the North in search of happiness, healing, fulfilment and success. The story begins on a cold, windswept island deep in the South where the main character, Riley Sutherland, meets an eccentric older woman who washes ashore during a storm, claiming to have travelled from the North on a quest to find the owner of a distraught message in a bottle found floating on one of the older woman's voyages.

Riley is shocked; she never expected anyone to find the message and had all but given up on reaching the North. That is until the woman shares some new insights that cause Riley's world to tip upside down. If Riley dares to try again, Cornelius promises to share with her the patterns of reaching the North; how to make her vessel seaworthy (both her boat and her identity within), how to map her journey North (setting goals and redetermining the direction she wants to take in life), how to make it through the reefs (changing the way she views failure), staying safe from sharks (how to protect herself from the critics in life), how to make it safely through storms (learning how to process stress), cleaning her boat's fuel tank (addressing old traumas) and so much more.

With the old woman's guidance, she finally pushes off from shore and what transpires is a journey that will change the trajectory of her life forever, as she comes to discover that the North has been inside of her all along."
